Canon's Pixma MP160 is an 'all-in-one' consumer color inkjet printer that can scan documents and images onto your computer's hard drive or print them. You can use the MP160 to scan documents such as tax papers, book pages or a school syllabus, then, once they are on your computer, email them, archive them for your records or use them as part of a digital project.

Open the MP Navigator software that was included with the MP160. If you haven't yet installed the software, insert the software disc into your computer and then follow the installation instructions as they appear. Once finished, click the program's icon to open it.

Press 'Scan' on the MP160 if you're using the printer for the first time; otherwise you can skip this step. A list of software options will appear. Use the arrow keys to select 'MP Navigator,' then press the 'OK' button. Php usb serial port.
